From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman II Episode 4 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Beryl Receives a Letter from His Father

The story and preview images for Episode 4 of the TV anime From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman (JP: 片田舎のおっさん、剣聖になる, Katainaka no Ossan kensei ni Naru) Season 2 have been revealed. This episode will air on Wednesday, July 29 at 11:45 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms. Along with the episode details, a special action movie produced with the full effort of the production staff has also been released.

Episode 4 Story

A letter addressed to Beryl arrives from Biden Village.

Sent by his father Moldea, the letter requests his return home, reflecting circumstances unique to Biden Village.

Coincidentally, as the Magician Academy enters summer vacation, Beryl invites Mewi to accompany him on the trip.

Joined by Mewi, who accepts the invitation, Henblitz, who takes an interest in the village, and Curuni, who tags along uninvited, Beryl makes his first journey back home. However, an unexpected battle breaks out the very next day.

Introduction

Beryl Gardinant, a humble countryside sword instructor, was finally adapting to daily life in the capital. He now spent his days serving as a special instructor for the chivalric order and acting as a guardian for an orphan.

However, the environment surrounding Beryl refused to let him rest in peace. At an educational institution dedicated to the scholarly pursuit of magic; in his hometown, where a wall he must overcome loomed high; in a frontier margraviate facing the national border; and in a foreign land swirling with conspiracies—Beryl must confront inevitable new battles, both as a swordsman and as a single human being──
