Star Detective Precure! Episode 27 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Kurea Howa Makes Her Detective Debut to Solve a Mysterious Disappearance

The story and preview images for Episode 27 of the new anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long running Precure series, have been revealed. The episode will air on August 2 at 8:30 AM (JST).

Episode 27 Story

Having regained her memories, Kurea Howa serves Anna and the others homemade tarts while revealing an unexpected truth. Although she really did stay at the Curett Detective Agency, she admits that she was never actually a detective.

As Anna and the others react in surprise, the owner of a restaurant arrives with a request for help. A cook has been missing for two days, and the group sets out together to find him.

Accompanying Anna and the others to the restaurant Princess Albert, Kurea puts the knowledge she gained as a pastry chef to good use, interviewing the owner and the cook’s coworkers. She learns that the cook had been short on money before payday and disappeared after leaving part of the staff stew unfinished.

When they head to the cook’s boarding house, they run into the missing cook himself just as he is leaving with a suitcase.

The cook explains that he had grown tired of work and decided to go on a trip for a change of pace. Satisfied with his explanation, Anna and the others prepare to let him go, but after carefully observing him, Kurea suddenly exclaims, “I’ve got it!”

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
