Weekly Shonen Jump’s Average Print Circulation Falls Below 1 Million, Down From Record 6.53 Million in 1994

Weekly Shonen Jump recorded an average certified print circulation of 985,000 copies per issue from April through June 2026, according to figures published on the official website of the Japan Magazine Publishers Association.

Weekly Shonen Jump Falls Below 1 Million Copies

Certified print circulation figures are surveyed with the cooperation of the Printing Industries Association and released four times a year, covering three month periods.
This marks the first time Weekly Shonen Jump has fallen below 1 million copies under this reporting system.

During the same period, Weekly Shonen Magazine recorded an average print circulation of 281,000 copies, while Weekly Shonen Sunday averaged 120,000 copies and Monthly CoroCoro Comic averaged 213,333 copies.

Weekly Shonen Jump Once Reached a Record 6.53 Million Copies

Weekly Shonen Jump was launched by Shueisha in July 1968 as Shonen Jump, initially published twice a month. It became a weekly magazine in 1969.

The magazine went on to produce a succession of major hits. Its combined New Year Issue 3 and 4 for 1995, released on December 20, 1994, recorded a circulation of 6.53 million copies, the highest ever achieved by a manga magazine.

Weekly Shonen Jump has also produced numerous series whose collected volumes have surpassed 100 million copies in circulation, and it continues to play a leading role in the world of shonen manga.

Its current lineup includes ONE PIECE, HUNTER×HUNTER, Akane banashi, SAKAMOTO DAYS, Ichi the Witch, Kagurabachi, and Someone Hertz.
