Introduction

The Apothecary Diaries is a story set in the rear palace of a fictional empire. It follows Maomao, an apothecary raised in the pleasure district, who uses her extensive pharmaceutical knowledge and sharp observational skills to unravel mysteries and conspiracies swirling within the court. Based on the popular light novel series that has surpassed 57 million copies in total circulation worldwide, the TV anime began broadcasting in 2023. The third season of the anime will begin airing on October 2, and the feature film The Apothecary Diaries the Movie: The Deceased Consort's Secret Treasure will premiere on December 11. Furthermore, a live-action drama adaptation starring Mana Ashida is scheduled for a 2028 release.
