CODE GEASS Star Chaser Aspal Announces 2027 Event Screenings, Main Cast and Staff

The all-new Code Geass anime CODE GEASS Star Chaser Aspal will receive event screenings in 2027. A main visual, preview stills, main staff, characters, cast and an introduction to the story have also been revealed.

Aspal and Zoe Begin a New Story in the Roman Empire

The story is set in Year 606 of the Divine Calendar, when citizens of the Roman Empire suffer under the oppressive rule of Emperor Phocas and a succession of wars with neighboring countries.

Aspal is a slave boy living in the imperial city of Neapolis with no memories of his past. One day, he encounters Zoe, a mysterious woman who survives as only a head. Their meeting marks the beginning of a new story.

Shibata Ivan stars as Aspal, while Hibiku Yamamura voices Zoe. Chronos, a newly revealed machine known as an Agalmata, will also appear in the anime.

SUNRISE is credited with the original concept and planning. Ichiro Okouchi and Goro Taniguchi, who worked on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, are responsible for the original story concept. Kazuya Nomura directs, Mado Nozaki handles series composition, Rolua provides the character designs, and Taro Iwashiro composes the music. SUNRISE is also responsible for animation production.

Nomura said the production has confronted the major question of "What is happiness?" through Aspal and his turbulent journey. Nozaki described creating the world of the new anime as an adventure.
