Kindergarten Wars TV Anime Announced Starring Atsumi Tanezaki and Kentaro Kumagai: “Recording Has Not Yet Begun”

The manga Kindergarten Wars is officially getting a TV anime adaptation. The first cast members have been revealed, with Atsumi Tanezaki voicing Rita and Kentaro Kumagai playing Doug.

The story follows Rita, a former legendary assassin who now works at a kindergarten attended by the children of the world’s most powerful figures. Every day she must protect the children from assassins sent to target them. While Rita’s overwhelming strength allows her to easily dispatch enemies, she has a major weakness, she cannot resist handsome men. Set in the “safest kindergarten in the world,” this unique mix of action, comedy, and romance has gained wide popularity.

The series was also ranked among the top ten nominees in AnimeJapan’s annual “Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking.” It placed third in the Next Manga Awards 2023 (Web Manga category) and eighth in the 7th TSUTAYA Comic Awards. With cumulative circulation surpassing 1.7 million copies, it has become a major hit supported by fans.
