'BLUELOCK' Season 2 Visual Unveiled! U-20 JAPAN Match Uniforms Revealed; 'EPISODE Nagi' Streaming in September
The key visual for the second season of the TV anime "BLUELOCK" (to be broadcast on TV Asahi starting October 5, spanning 14 episodes) titled "BLUELOCK VS. U-20 JAPAN" has been released.
The key visual features Yoichi Isagi running with raw ego to achieve his goal, along with Sae Itoshi, Rin Itoshi, and Oliver Aiku dynamically depicted on the pitch. Additionally, the U-20 JAPAN match uniforms worn by Isagi and the other "BLUELOCK" members have been revealed.
Furthermore, starting September 1 at midnight, Prime Video will begin exclusive streaming of the theatrical version "BLUELOCK - EPISODE Nagi" as part of their unlimited viewing service. This film, which can be enjoyed before the broadcast of the TV series' second season, portrays the battles in "BLUELOCK" from the perspective of Seishiro Nagi, a character with extraordinary soccer talent.
"BLUELOCK" is based on the manga of the same name currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. It’s a soccer story where Japan, in response to its defeat in the World Cup, launches a national project aimed at creating a forward with "overwhelming egoism," something the national team lacks.
The story revolves around the selection of 300 high school students, all of whom are forwards, with the birth of a striker who will revolutionize Japanese soccer at the cost of 299 soccer careers.
The manga has surpassed 40 million copies in circulation, and the first season of the TV anime aired from October 2022 to March 2023.
