The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) opened Tokyo Game Show 2024 (TGS 2024) today, Thursday, September 26, at 10:00 AM JST (9:00 PM EST). This year's event features the largest number of exhibitors and booths in TGS history, with 985 exhibitors and 3,252 booths. The scale of TGS 2024 makes it the largest Tokyo Game Show ever held.

The first two days (September 26-27) are designated as business days for game industry professionals, press, and influencers, while the last two days (September 28-29) are open to the general public, allowing game enthusiasts to attend. The event is being held both at the physical venue in Makuhari Messe and through online programming, which is expected to attract a large audience.

A total of 985 companies and organizations from 44 countries and regions are participating in TGS 2024, including 30 online exhibitors. Of the total, 450 are domestic exhibitors, and 535 are from overseas, both representing a record number. These figures are more than 120% of last year's event.

The number of booths has also increased to 3,252, surpassing last year's 2,682. The number of titles being showcased has reached 2,850, also a record, exceeding last year's 2,291.
