The film is directed by Yukiyo Teramoto, who previously became the first female director in the Doraemon series with the 2007 film Doraemon: Nobita’s New Great Adventure into the Underworld - The Seven Magic Users. Teramoto, who returns for her fourth Doraemon movie, commented, "I'm thrilled to be back in the world of Doraemon adventures. While this movie ventures into the art world, it’s not stiff or formal at all. It's a fun, engaging story that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike without overthinking it. The film is packed with laughter, tears, excitement, action, and mystery, so please look forward to it!"

The screenplay is written by Koji Ito, a prolific writer for the Doraemon TV anime, who will be making his debut in the Doraemon movie series. Fans are eager to see the collaboration between these two experts of the Doraemon universe.

A teaser video has also been released, featuring Doraemon wearing a beret and holding a paintbrush, with the 45th-anniversary logo at the start. "What kind of story could this painting hold?" Nobita wonders, expanding his imagination about the world within the painting. Using Doraemon's secret gadget, the "Enter-the-Painting Light," they dive into the picture. There, they discover the Artoria Principality, a grand medieval European world. What adventures await Doraemon and his friends? What secrets are hidden within this world? The teaser also introduces new characters that Doraemon and the gang meet in the painting: Claire, a mysterious girl from Artoria; Milo, a talented boy who lives in the Principality; and Chai, a small demon with wings. More updates about these key characters are expected soon.
