ZEROBASEONE to Perform New Pokémon Anime Opening 'Only One Story' Starting October 11, 2024
The K-pop global boy group ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) will perform their new Japanese original song, "Only One Story," as the opening theme for the new chapter of the TV anime Pokémon (airs Fridays at 6:55 PM on TV Tokyo).
"Only One Story," their first Japanese original track in about seven months since their debut, is a refreshing and uplifting song that sends encouragement to adventurers with the message, "You’ll be fine." It aligns perfectly with the journey of Pokémon protagonists Liko and Roy, inspiring them to walk forward with the friends and Pokémon they meet while creating their "one and only story."
ZEROBASEONE’s first anime tie-in song will be released on streaming platforms on October 11, coinciding with the debut of Pokémon's 4th chapter, "Rayquaza Rising."
Formed through the Korean audition show Boys Planet in April of last year, ZEROBASEONE consists of nine members: Sung Han Bin, Kim Ji Woong, Zhang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae Rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu Vin, Park Gun Wook, and Han Yu Jin.
The group expressed their excitement, saying, "We've loved Pokémon since childhood and always dreamed of performing the opening theme, so we’re truly thrilled!" They added, "It’s a fun song that everyone can sing and dance along to, so we hope you’ll enjoy it together with the anime!"
ZEROBASEONE's Comment:
"We’ve loved Pokémon since childhood and always wanted to perform the opening theme, so we’re really happy! The chorus of 'Only One Story' is super catchy and will stay in your head after one listen. One standout lyric in the chorus is, 'Even if you’ve cried many times, you’ll be fine,' so be sure to look out for that. It’s a fun song for everyone to sing and dance to, so please enjoy it along with the anime!"
