This marks the second consecutive year and the 14th time overall that the ONE PIECE series has claimed the top spot. The series continues to hold the record for the most overall annual #1 rankings by a single comic series.

ONE PIECE is an epic maritime adventure revolving around the legendary treasure "One Piece," left behind by the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy, a boy who gains special abilities after eating the Devil Fruit "Gomu Gomu no Mi," which turns his body into rubber, allowing it to stretch like elastic. Luffy gathers comrades and forms the pirate crew "Straw Hat Pirates," embarking on a grand journey to become the Pirate King.

The series began serialization in the July 22, 1997 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (Issue #34). As of August 4, 2022, it has surpassed 510 million copies in circulation worldwide. ONE PIECE and its creator, Eiichiro Oda, hold the Guinness World Record for "The most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author," a title first awarded in late December 2014 and subsequently updated.
