The highly anticipated manga ranking book This Manga is Amazing! 2025 (Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2025) has revealed its top selections ahead of its December 13 release. This year’s #1 pick in the Men’s Category (Otoko-hen) is Kimi to Uchuu wo Aruku Tame ni (To Walk the Universe with You) by Inuhiko Doronota, while the Women’s Category (Onna-hen) top spot goes to Tamaki and Amane by Fumi Yoshinaga.

Men’s Category Winner: Kimi to Uchuu wo Aruku Tame ni

This heartfelt story of friendship follows two high school misfits: delinquent Kobayashi, struggling with studies and work, and the class oddball Uno. Both face challenges with "ordinary life" but form a bond as they help each other navigate their struggles and find joy.

The manga, serialized on Kodansha’s &Sofa platform, struck a chord with readers for its authentic portrayal of youth and vulnerability. Author Inuhiko Doronota debuted with the one-shot Tokyo Ningyo, earning recognition in Kodansha’s Afternoon Four Seasons Award in 2022. Yoshinaga, known for her critically acclaimed works like Ōoku: The Inner Chambers and What Did You Eat Yesterday?, delivers another masterpiece, earning the top spot in the Women’s Category.
