The official story and preview stills for Episode 15 of the anime Kaiju No. 8 have been revealed. The new episode is set to broadcast on Saturday, August 2, at 11:00 PM (JST). After its Japanese airing, the episode will also be made available across various international streaming platforms. And for fans who just can't wait, a real-time global simulcast will be streamed on X.

Episode 15 Story

Kaiju No. 9 reappears—this time with a new trick up its sleeve. Splitting into two separate bodies, it throws the Defense Force into chaos.

Kafka Hibino and Kikoru Shinomiya fight side by side in an effort to turn the tide. But the evolving nature of Kaiju No. 9 quickly becomes overwhelming. Before long, the battle slips out of their control—and just when things couldn’t get worse, Kafka fails to transform into Kaiju No. 8.

Cornered and outmatched, Kikoru finds herself recalling a promise she once made to her late mother, Hikari Shinomiya—a memory that gives her strength when she needs it most.

Meanwhile, Gen Narumi faces off against the second body of Kaiju No. 9 in a fight that pushes him to the limit. With tension mounting and the stakes higher than ever, the battle escalates on all fronts.

About Kaiju No.8

The anime has been named the first Japanese work to join TikTok Spotlight. Gaining popularity overseas, Kaiju No. 8 has featured world-renowned artists—YUNGBLUD and OneRepublic for Season 1, and AURORA and OneRepublic for Season 2—drawing global attention. This new collaboration aims to showcase the power of Japanese anime to fans around the world.

To commemorate the Season 2 launch, the “Anime Kaiju No. 8 TikTok Grand Operation” campaign will be held on TikTok.
