Universal Studios Japan x Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Reveals First Collaboration Attraction Details and Story

On March 24, Universal Studios Japan located in Osaka announced details of its upcoming collaboration attraction with the popular TV anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. The limited time attraction titled Frieren Story Walk Journey of Memories will open on May 30.

As part of Universal Cool Japan 2026, the park is already hosting collaborations with Detective Conan, Jujutsu Kaisen, the Masquerade series based on Keigo Higashino’s works, and Monster Hunter Wilds. Until now, details about the Frieren project had remained undisclosed.

The newly revealed Frieren Story Walk Journey of Memories will be the first installment of a new attraction format called Universal Story Walk, making its debut at USJ.

A Fully Immersive Walk Through Experience

Universal Story Walk is a highly immersive walk through attraction where guests physically move through the space and experience the story firsthand. With massive screens, projection mapping, dynamic lighting and sound, and meticulously recreated sets and props, the park’s advanced technology brings beloved worlds vividly to life.

Guests will be able to experience the magical world depicted in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End in a tangible way. The park invites visitors to immerse themselves alongside Frieren and her companions, promising a deeply emotional experience that captures the essence of the original story.

Attraction Highlights and Story Overview

In Frieren Story Walk Journey of Memories, guests take on the role of travelers, walking through the story while revisiting important memories of the journey together with Frieren, Fern, and Stark .

Upon entering the magic city, guests encounter Frieren and her party. Spectacular magic scenes such as Zoltraak are recreated on giant screens, alongside detailed props including Frieren’s staff and a statue of Himmel . Interactive elements even allow guests to experience using magic themselves.

Through this ultra realistic experience, visitors are enveloped both physically and emotionally in Frieren’s journey to understand people.
