Star Detective Precure! Episode 31 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Cure Answer, Mystique and Eclair Overwhelmed by Eclipse Shadow’s Crushing Power

The story and preview images for Episode 31 of the new anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long running Precure series, have been revealed. The episode will air on August 30 at 8:30 AM (JST).

Episode 31 Story

Cure Answer, Cure Mystique, and Cure Eclair confront Eclipse Shadow, but the three are overwhelmed by Eclipse Shadow’s tremendous power and are forced out of their transformations.

As Eclipse Shadow approaches the fallen Kurea Howa, Eclipse Shadow reveals that Cure Eclair has the same star in her eyes as Usonoir, and that there is a legend stating that someone with a star in their eyes will become the Great King.

Mashutan then reveals Luluka’s true intentions. She plans to shatter the Makoto Jewel within Kurea’s heart, erasing her Precure powers and her memories as a detective so that she can live simply as Kurea Howa, a pastry chef.

Mashutan tries to persuade them, saying, “That is Luluka’s kindness.” But Anna Akechi and Mikuru Kobayashi rise to their feet and declare, “That’s not kindness!” They transform into Precure once again and reach out to Kurea.

Kurea also transforms again, joining forces with Cure Answer and the others to fight back. Faced with the three Precure standing together once more, Eclipse Shadow demands even greater power from Detchi Again, but...

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
