Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Returns for a Fourth USJ Collaboration

Universal Studios Japan, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, holds Universal Cool Japan annually as a special event where guests can experience highly immersive worlds based on Japanese entertainment franchises loved around the world. The 2027 season will begin rolling out from Dec. 2, 2026.

The first announced lineup, launching that day, is Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. It marks the franchise’s fourth collaboration with USJ following events in 2018, 2019 and 2022.

The series, which has expanded beyond Japan and is loved in more than 40 countries, will return to the park this winter with attractions designed to deliver an immersive and highly realistic experience of its world.

The Miracle 4-D Returns for a Limited Run

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: The Miracle 4-D — Moon Palace Edition Deluxe will return for a limited time after receiving strong responses from guests during its previous run. The attraction also made its way to a U.S. park in April, drawing fans from around the world.

Using 3D visuals and environmental effects, the theater attraction creates the sensation of being surrounded by the world of the series, with the Sailor Guardians appearing close enough to reach out and touch.

The experience includes fantastical and dynamic transformation sequences, powerful action unfolding directly in front of guests, the Guardians confronting danger, and elegant scenes of them dancing at a ball in beautiful dresses.

The attraction will run from Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2026, through Monday, April 5, 2027, at Cinema 4-D Theater and will be presented as a theater show.

Story of the Moon Palace Attraction

Guests are invited to an elegant ball at the Moon Palace and receive a glamorous welcome, but an evil presence soon begins to close in.

A powerful enemy seeking the Legendary Silver Crystal attacks, leaving Sailor Moon with no way to fight back. With Sailor Moon facing a desperate crisis, the strength of the nine Sailor Guardians — and the guest — becomes essential.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon × Story Ride Debuts at Hollywood Dream – The Ride

To commemorate Universal Studios Japan’s 25th anniversary, the park will hold Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon × Story Ride for the first time.

The Story Ride will operate at Hollywood Dream – The Ride from Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2026, through Monday, April 5, 2027. Further details will be announced at a later date.
