The summary, scene previews, and a trailer for episode 1 of the brand-new TV anime Ranma 1/2 (airing on October 5) have been released. It was also announced that Koichi Yamadera will be voicing the Jusenkyo Guide.

Ranma 1/2 follows the daily life of high school student Ranma Saotome, who turns into a girl when splashed with water, and his fiancée Akane Tendo, in a martial arts romantic comedy that involves their chaotic surroundings. The original TV anime aired from 1989 to 1992, followed by theatrical films and OVAs, and in 2011, a live-action drama adaptation starring Yui Aragaki as Akane was released.

Episode 1: "Ranma Arrives" Summary:

Soun Tendo eagerly awaits the return of his close friend’s son, Ranma Saotome, who is also the fiancé of his daughter Akane, from China. On the long-awaited day, a surprise greets them—a cute girl with pigtails and a giant panda! During their martial arts training, the Saotome family had fallen into the legendary training ground known as Jusenkyo. As a result, Ranma now transforms into a girl when splashed with water, and his father Genma turns into a panda!
