[BREAKING] Oshi no Ko Manga Ending After 4 Years: Final Chapter to Be Released on November 14
The popular manga Oshi no Ko (Story by Aka Akasaka, Art by Mengo Yokoyari) will conclude with the final chapter (Chapter 166) in the 50th issue of Weekly Young Jump released on November 14, as announced by Shueisha. The series will wrap up in four chapters, ending its approximately 4.5-year run that began in April 2020. The final volume, Volume 16, is set for release on December 18.
The story entered its final arc in the July 4 issue, and the official Oshi no Ko X account also announced, “Only 4 chapters until the end of Oshi no Ko!!” From the October 24 issue, the manga will be published weekly without any breaks until its conclusion.
Additionally, a special edition of the final volume, Oshi no Ko Volume 16 Special Edition, featuring a special cover, book stand, and stickers, will be released alongside the standard edition. The special edition cover will be an alternate design packed with the creative input of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, with a sparkling foil finish. Furthermore, a fully faithful recreation of the "Ai Infinite Permanent Eternal Oshi!!!" keychain from the series will be released. Various other projects to celebrate the conclusion are also in progress.
Oshi no Ko is a story that depicts the light and dark sides of the entertainment industry. The protagonist, Gorou, a gynecologist, meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, but after a certain incident, he dies and is reincarnated as her child. This sets him on a path to follow her into the entertainment industry.
The manga has surpassed 18 million copies in circulation and has been adapted into a TV anime that aired from April to June 2023. The second season aired from July to October, and a third season has been confirmed. Additionally, a live-action drama series will be exclusively streamed on Prime Video starting November 28, with a film following on December 20. A 2.5D stage play will also be performed in December.

Aka Akasaka (Story)
Aka Akasaka began serializing his representative work Kaguya-sama: Love is War in Miracle Jump in May 2015, and in March 2016, the series moved to Weekly Young Jump, marking his first weekly serialization. He started Oshi no Ko in April 2020 in collaboration with Mengo Yokoyari. Despite simultaneously serializing two works, Kaguya-sama concluded in November 2022. Since then, Akasaka has focused on his career as a manga story writer.
Mengo Yokoyari (Art)
Mengo Yokoyari has been active primarily in seinen (young men's) magazines, starting You Are My Queen in Weekly Young Jump and other publications in January 2012. Her series Retort Pouch! began in Miracle Jump in April 2014, later moving to Weekly Young Jump in July 2017 and concluding in January 2019. Since April 2020, she has been collaborating with Aka Akasaka on Oshi no Ko in the same magazine.
