Kamen Rider Gotchard Spin-off 'Lachesis' Reveals Dark Origin Story of the Sisters of Gloom
A new spin-off for Kamen Rider Gotchard, titled The Apocalypse of Gloom: Lachesis, will soon delve into the mysterious origins of the “Sisters of Gloom,” with a focus on the youngest sister, Lachesis. The story, which will debut on Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club (TTFC) in Spring 2025, was officially announced during the Kamen Rider Gotchard Final Stage event at Showa Women’s University Hitomi Memorial Hall on October 20. The series will star Arisa Sakamaki, who portrays Lachesis in the original TV show.
A Dark and Beautiful Story Unfolds
In the Kamen Rider Gotchard TV series, the sinister “Sisters of Gloom” were formidable foes of protagonist Houtarou Ichinose, a.k.a. Kamen Rider Gotchard. However, the origins of these enigmatic sisters were left largely unexplored—until now. The upcoming spin-off will reveal how a once-ordinary girl named Risa Arisugawa, who dreamed of becoming a singer, transforms into Lachesis, the youngest of the Sisters of Gloom. The story promises to be as beautiful as it is tragic, revealing the dark forces that shaped these antagonists.
The teaser for Lachesis, which premiered at the Final Stage event, also features the other Sisters of Gloom: Atropos, played by Itono Okita, and Clotho, portrayed by Kanon Miyahara. Joining them is Kenta Kamakari as Grion, clad in his alchemical garb, and a mysterious new character, Doctor Mulgam, whose twisted form hints at shocking revelations.
A Star Team Behind the Spin-off
The script is written by Keiichi Hasegawa, one of the main writers for Kamen Rider Gotchard, ensuring continuity with the original show. Directing the spin-off is Tomonobu Koshi, who served as assistant director on both the TV series and the film Kamen Rider Gotchard: The Future Daybreak, and is known for his work on Ultraman Arc. Viewers can expect a much darker narrative compared to the main series, offering a fresh perspective on the Gotchard universe.
What’s Next for the Gotchard Universe?
With this new spin-off, fans of Kamen Rider Gotchard can look forward to uncovering more secrets about the Sisters of Gloom and the darker side of the Gotchard lore. This compelling and emotional tale is sure to be a highlight for fans when it premieres on TTFC in 2025.
