The collaboration brings together two anime titles produced by different broadcasters and animation studios. Precure previously collaborated with another anime in 2024, when Wonderful Precure! teamed up with Crayon Shin-chan, drawing major attention as Shinnosuke Nohara and Shiro transformed into Precure during an episode of Crayon Shin-chan.
In Star Detective Precure! Episode 18, titled “The Great Detective Assemble (JP: 名探偵の共演),” Anna and her friends help prepare an exhibition by glass artist Misako Shindo at Hosho Museum. The centerpiece is a glass slipper called “The Forgotten Item at 12 O’Clock,” but when the box is delivered on a cart, a large number of glass slippers suddenly spill out. They are later revealed to be resin fakes, and during the commotion, the real slipper disappears.

Believing the Phantom Thieves to be responsible, Anna and Mikuru investigate outside the museum for clues. There, they meet Edogawa Conan, Ran Mouri, and Kogoro Mouri, who are visiting Makotomirai City. The episode depicts Star Detective Precure and Edogawa Conan joining forces to uncover the truth and confront the Phantom Thieves.

The June 6 special episode of Detective Conan, titled “A Hanamaru Truth Answer,” follows the Detective Boys as they “Curett-solve” a serial jewelry robbery case. After Ayumi learns about a string of jewelry robberies in Beika Town, she connects the case to the story of the Precure anime she is currently obsessed with and becomes excited, thinking that Precure might appear if a band of thieves shows up.
At Kaneko Jewelry Store, rumored to be the next target, Conan and the Detective Boys stand guard. After following a suspicious customer, they discover the date of the planned crime and the thieves’ hideout, seemingly allowing the police to round up the gang. However, Ayumi notices that something feels off.

The newly released special visual features Edogawa Conan from Detective Conan and Cure Answer from Star Detective Precure! striking detective poses back to back.
Regarding the collaboration, Goshi Yoshida, producer of Detective Conan at Yomiuri TV, said that it had been one year since he met producer Tada and heard, “Next year’s Precure is about detectives.” He explained that although a crossover between two works with different TV networks, production studios, and original publishers seemed almost impossible, he felt from the start that it would be exciting. He also noted that a message for Precure has been included after Next Conan’s Hint and urged viewers to watch until the end.
Kanako Tada, producer of Star Detective Precure! at ABC Animation, said she visited Yoshida one year ago and asked, “Please let us collaborate with Detective Conan next year!” She said she is deeply happy that the project has taken shape, despite knowing there would be many hurdles. She added that the collaboration was achieved through a shared desire among the Detective Conan staff to entertain viewers.
Tada also expressed gratitude to the Detective Conan production team, saying that the series has been deeply meaningful to her personally, as she has watched it live on terrestrial TV since elementary school and it has continued to be loved for 30 years.
