The synopsis and scene previews for episode 1 of Blue Lock Season 2 (Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan), which begins airing on TV Asahi from October 5 with a total of 14 episodes, have been revealed. Additionally, it has been announced that a mini-anime titled Blue Lock Additional Time! will also be released.

Blue Lock is based on the manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. It tells the story of a national high school soccer project launched by Japan following their defeat in the Soccer World Cup, aiming to create a forward player with "overwhelming egoism." The project gathers 300 high school soccer players—all forwards—where 299 will have to give up their soccer dreams for one to emerge as a revolutionary striker who can change the future of Japanese soccer.

The manga has surpassed 40 million copies in circulation, and the first season of the TV anime aired from October 2022 to March 2023.

Episode 25: "Tryout" Summary:

After completing the second selection phase of the Blue Lock project, only 35 high school forwards remain. Having survived the harsh survival test, these players now face their next challenge: a match against the U-20 Japan National Team, scheduled three weeks later, with the future of the Blue Lock project on the line. Ego announces that the team for this critical match will be built around the top six players based on overall evaluation. The remaining forwards who didn’t make the top six will have to fight for their spots through an aptitude test.
