Shogakukan's magazine Terebikun, whose mascot is Doraemon, shared their condolences via their official X account: "Actress and voice actress Nobuyo Oyama passed away on September 29 at the age of 90. She had an illustrious career spanning from the 1950s, voicing characters such as Boo in Boo Foo Woo, Kunimatsu in Harris no Kaze, and Kappei Jin in Invincible Super Man Zambot 3. Most notably, she voiced Doraemon for over 25 years. We offer our deepest sympathies."

Born on October 16, 1933, in Tokyo, Oyama had blood type O. She voiced Doraemon in the Doraemon anime series on TV Asahi from 1979 to 2005. Her other notable roles include Lassie in Lassie, Boo in Boo Foo Woo, and Kunimatsu in Harris no Kaze. Her husband was actor Keisuke Sunagawa.
