The 28th episode of the new TV anime Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story's second season, titled "Portrait of an Ambitious Man," will air on October 24 as part of Fuji TV's late-night anime programming block "Noitamina" and other channels.

Kenshin and the others enter "Shingetsu Village," where the Mishima brothers have fled. The village, under the control of Shishio's subordinate Senkaku, is in ruins, shrouded in an eerie atmosphere due to the oppressed villagers who live in constant fear of violence. Kenshin heads to the mansion where Shishio is rumored to be staying, alongside Ichi, who came to see the village's condition. Meanwhile, Eiji is consumed with thoughts of revenge against Senkaku.
