Live-Action Oshi no Ko Reveals 8 Theme Songs by MY FIRST STORY, Da-iCE, Umeda Cypher, and More
On October 23, Amazon and Toei unveiled that each of the eight episodes of the upcoming live-action Oshi no Ko series, set to stream on Prime Video starting November 28, will feature a different theme song by a notable artist. The lineup of musicians was also revealed.
The diverse group of artists contributing songs includes MY FIRST STORY, Rokudenashi, Da-iCE, I's, Yabai T-Shirts Yasan, WANIMA, Wednesday Campanella, and Umeda Cypher. Each song has been specifically written for the series, capturing the unique emotions and depth of the storyline.
Theme Songs for Each Episode
The drama’s first episode will feature the song "Akuma" by MY FIRST STORY. Following that, episode 2 will have "Sosou Fuitsu" by Rokudenashi, episode 3 will feature Da-iCE’s "Orange Youth," and episode 4 will include I's "Past die Future." For episode 5, Yabai T-Shirts Yasan brings "Ee Gana," while episode 6 will feature WANIMA’s "Ranran Rhapsody." Wednesday Campanella contributes "Ugoku Ten P" for episode 7, and the final episode 8 will be highlighted by Umeda Cypher’s "REVENGE."
Plot and Characters
The series explores the dark and complex realities of the entertainment industry, following Aqua (Kaito Sakurai) and Ruby (Nagisa Saito), twins who were reborn as the children of a legendary idol, Ai (Asuka Saito). After Ai’s untimely death, Aqua is driven by a desire for revenge, while Ruby dreams of becoming a successful idol like her mother. Along the way, they encounter former child actor Kana Arima (Nana Honoka), actress Akane Kurokawa (Mizuki Kayashima) from the LaLaLie troupe, and popular influencer MEM-cho (Ano), as they all navigate the difficult entertainment world.
Promotion and Teasers
Each episode’s theme song will be previewed in weekly TV spots, aired during EIGHT-JAM (TV Asahi, Sundays at 11 PM, Kanto region only). The first digest video, featuring MY FIRST STORY’s "Akuma" and Rokudenashi’s "Sosou Fuitsu," will air on November 3. Additionally, a digest video of episode 1 will also be shown during ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 on October 27.
Film Release
The live-action Oshi no Ko drama will debut exclusively on Prime Video for Amazon Prime members worldwide starting November 28 at 9 PM. The story will continue in a theatrical film distributed by Toei, set to release on December 20.
Music and Soundtrack Release
In addition to the theme songs, original songs performed by the idol group B-Komachi in the drama, along with the soundtrack, were released as a playlist on Amazon Music starting October 23. Kaito Sakurai, who stars as Aqua, will also serve as a narrator for the playlist.
