Rurouni Kenshin Episode 34 (Season 2, EP10) Story & Preview Cut Released
Rurouni Kenshin episode 34 titled "Sakabatō’s First Strike," will air on December 4 as part of Fuji TV's late-night anime programming block "Noitamina" and other channels.
Story: Episode 34
“Sakabatō: First Strike” is based on a storyboard created by original author Nobuhiro Watsuki for the Rurouni Kenshin 25th Anniversary Exhibition. The episode portrays a pivotal chapter where Kenshin Himura, once the infamous Hitokiri Battosai during the Bakumatsu era, takes his first step toward becoming the wanderer who vows never to kill again, embracing his path of redemption.
Set during Keio 4 (1868), the episode opens with Kenshin suffering from a high fever in a dilapidated shrine. He overhears ominous discussions from rogue hunters targeting defeated government soldiers, gripping his sword tightly in reflex. As the hunters leave, Kenshin drifts into a feverish dream, wrestling with the words of Akazora. When he awakens, he finds himself being cared for by Giichi, a former policeman, and his wife Satsuki. This episode tells the story of how Kenshin, burdened by his bloody past, wields the sakabatō for the first time.
