The legitimate heir to the main line of the prestigious Asama family, a lineage of distinguished merit since the founding of Yamato. Known by the nickname "Tsune-chan-san," he was raised with a rigorous elite education by his mother. This has resulted in an extreme mother complex; he refers to her as "Mama" and has even gone so far as to write her biography.

Yoshitsune is driven by an intense ambition and a desire for recognition, aspiring to end the Three Kingdoms era by his own hand and become a figure respected by the entire nation. Although he is highly skilled in martial arts, he tends to look down on others. To appear more intelligent and superior, he intentionally avoids the Kansai dialect (Yamato's standard tongue) in public, choosing instead to speak the "Eastern language".

He first encountered Aoteru at a low-budget inn and, after a brief confrontation, joined him in the "Toryumon" trial. He successfully entered the service of Mitsuhide Ryumon after physically forcing the general to one knee in combat. Two years older than Aoteru, he is recognized by his distinctive "kappa" (bob-cut) hairstyle.

Following General Ryumon's imprisonment, and acting on Aoteru's advice to serve the Taira clan if he were captured, Yoshitsune skillfully navigated the Taira faction. Over the course of four years, he married Shiori, the daughter of Denki Taira, securing a solid position within the government. By the year 64 of the Yamato Era, he was promoted to Major General of the Right (右中将) and now oversees military affairs alongside the newly pardoned Aoteru.
